October Overview

In this unit, we will investigate properties of matter. You will begin by defining matter and identifying the four states of matter. Then, you’ll identify properties of common matter such as water and metals.

You will then review mathematical concepts such as place value, decimals, units, rounding, estimating, using rulers, and calculating area, all skills necessary for doing good science.

Finally, you’ll learn new skills necessary for observing properties of matter such as how to be accurate and precise, and how to use Significant Figures rules when making measurements.
